NEO Security

NEO Technologies (Pvt) Ltd is a boutique security firm established in August 2018 as a unique collaboration between its Chairman, Major Tissa Aluwihare – a veritable “security mentor” – and his longstanding, loyal staff from his previous company, Bren Security/Securitas Sri Lanka. NEO gives its shareholders & management team the chance to shine & develop, to become entrepreneurs and grow beyond their wildest dreams. “Dream big & deliver” is the motto of the company! NEO shareholders grew from being a telephone operator to COO, from office runner to Director Operations… a story not often heard in Sri Lanka or elsewhere.

Small is beautiful – a lean management & cost structure, effective operational systems, customer centric service with a lot of heart, personalised relationships built on trust – that’s what you get when you engage with NEO Technologies as your security service provider.

After only 5 years of operations, having endured the dramatic economic impact of the Easter Bombings in 2019, the Covid pandemic in 2020/21 and the recent political unrest in 2022, NEO managed to grow from 2 to over 400 security officers, serving over 50 clients who came mainly through word-of-mouth. A testimony to NEO’s resilience and zeal!

Major Tissa Aluwihare

Chairman & Founder

“An officer & gentleman” – best describes Major Tissa Aluwihare! With an illustrious army career in the prestigious SL Armoured Corps, he left his regiment after 12 years of active service to build up his own garment manufacturing business, which he sold after 5 years. In 1992 Major Aluwihare established his security firm, Bren Security, which he spearheaded successfully for 25 years. He sold the final shares of Bren in January 2017 to the top Swedish multinational, Securitas AB. In over 30 years he has left a mark on the SL Security Industry per se by devising new standards & levels of compliance and by uplifting the image & welfare of security personnel. As the President of the SL Security Providers Association (SLASSPA) 2014-15 and VP in 2021 he ‘moved mountains’ with his relentless energy, great PR & organizational skills, his top connections and created a lasting feeling of ‘professional brotherhood’ within this diverse group. As company CEO Major Aluwihare has been an inspirational leader for his staff of all levels, demonstrating strong entrepreneurial skills, an astute sense for finance management & investments and a unique leadership style with its core being trust & loyalty.

Sajeewanie Gamage

Director & COO

Being the heart & soul of NEO Technologies, Sajeewanie Gamage leads her team with zeal, professionalism and relentless determination to provide the best service for her clients whilst keeping a humane touch with everybody she interacts with. With 18 years of extensive experience in commercial & industrial security during her time with Bren/Securitas SL, Sajeewanie Gamage evolved greatly, showing her versatility & many capabilities, all of which were recognized by her superiors. She is now an entrepreneur in her own right and the first female Chief Operating Officer of a security company in Sri Lanka – under the caring guidance of her mentor, Major Aluwihare. She leads her NEO team with common sense, hard hands-on work, total commitment and the wisdom to take the correct decision in difficult situations.

Peter Joseph

Head of Operations

A true “action man”, Peter Joseph is the capable and highly motivated Operations Director of NEO with 22 years of commercial & industrial security experience under his belt. He – like Mrs Gamage – served under Major Aluwihare at Bren/Securitas SL. He also rose through the ranks and has become a real pro in handling all operational matters through-the-line, mastering the art of 6 diplomatically diffusing tricky situations on ground. Peter Joseph deeply cares for operational excellence and is an effective trainer of our NEO security officers. He is well versed with handling diverse locations – such as private residences & properties, large scale manufacturing sites & warehouse facilities and, last but not least, diplomatic missions & residencies, a particularly challenging environment with 100% compliance standards.

N.K. Chamara Udayanga

Head of Finance

Thorough financial planning and careful cash-flow management are the backbone of every professional company. Chamara Udayanga is the trusted FCO of the NEO security firm and holds BBA (Accounting) and ICASL degrees. He brings 14 years of accounting, tax and financial management experience to the party. Chamara Udayanga is a very personable, caring man with great contacts to all major Auditing firms and the Inland Revenue department. He manages all aspects of NEO’s company finances, audits & taxes under the guidance of the Chairman, Major Tissa Aluwihare.

Hansa Malinga Nadeeshan

HR Manager

A multi-tasker, IT aficionado and hands-on manager, Hansa Malinga is a vibrant member of the NEO management team. He has a talent for all matters related to HR with 12 years of experience in the field of commercial security. Hansa Malinga has a proven track record of managing NEO’s diverse workforce with its challenges coming from a service driven background, hence dependent on the quality of human resources through-the-line. He has shown his versatility, dependability and hands-on management style over & over again and is hence a valued member of NEO’s core management team.
